The Wildcats were defeated by the Edmonton Huskies 60-28 on Saturday night in front of 2,295 fans at the Wildcats’ home opener at Emerald Hills Regional Park in Sherwood Park. The Wildcats mustered 132 rushing yards and 282 passing yards in the contest. Lucas Howe was the Wildcats’ top target through the air, as he accumulated 88 yards on 6 receptions for 2 touchdowns. Devin Desormeau completed 19 passes on 33 attempts for 224 yards, 2 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions. Declan Mullin put up 2 touchdowns in the game, with a 1 yard rushing touchdown and a 99 yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
The next home game for the Wildcats takes place on Sunday, September 12 (11:00 am) when they play host to the Winnipeg Rifles at Emerald Hills Regional Park in Sherwood Park.
