Wildcats Face Off Against Huskies

The Edmonton Wildcats head into Clarke Parke as visitors this Saturday night to take on their cross town rival Edmonton Huskies in a match of 2 teams that are 0-4 on the season.

Both teams are itching for a win, with the Huskies coming off a demoralizing defeat in Calgary, losing to the Colts 58-0 last weekend, while the Wildcats are coming off a disappointing loss in Winnipeg 33-21 at the hand of the Rifles. The Wildcats showed signs of improvement on offense last weekend and will need to continue that focus heading into this Saturday’s matchup with the Huskies. Defensively the Wildcats are going to need better results after a poor showing in Winnipeg, by limiting the Huskies run and passing games. This will be a critical game for the Wildcats if they want any chance of getting into the playoffs to defend their PFC Title.

The offence will need to continue their focus with consistency, discipline and sustained drives, which will be the key to the Wildcats success this weekend. Special teams for the Cats will also be a big factor in determining the outcome of this contest at Clarke Park on Saturday.

On Defense the focus will be playing smart disciplined football and keeping the Huskies offense off the field. The Wildcats will be looking for a big game from their secondary which was less than effective last weekend in Winnipeg.

All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field around 7:00 pm nightly.
