Wildcats Year End Banquet

The Edmonton Wildcats honored the 2011 PFC award winners and graduating players at their annual banquet held in Edmonton this past weekend. There is plenty of optimism for next year has the Wildcats have roughly 50 returning players to compete for the National Title which will be hosted by the winner of the BCFC conference in 2012.

The Wildcats honored some of their own at last weekend’s banquet and were presented with individual team awards for the various performances on the field in 2011. The winners are as follows:

Big Kahuna Special Teams Player: David Ness
Rookie of the Year: Jordan Olson
Peter Smith Award: Logan Trachuk
Jay Meraw Trophy: Justin McEvoy
Most Valuable Back: Miguel Barker
Most Valuable Lineman: Steven Giang
Most Valuable Player: Andrew Johnson

The Wildcats also honored their 2011 graduating players and their 5 year graduates. They are as follows:

# 25 Darren McConnell – DB # 7 Kris Gibson – DB
# 29 Shiane Runcie – RB # 33 Justin McEvoy- RB

The Wildcats were also honored at the PFC Banquet hosted this year by the PFC & National Champion Saskatoon Hilltops in Saskatoon with 4 Wildcats taking All-Star Honors for their excellent play in 2011. They are as follows:

PFC Rookie All-Star

# 21 Ryan Migadel – DB
