October 11 Game Summary

The Wildcats season ended on a disappointing note with a 36-33 loss at Clarke Stadium this afternoon.

The game started off with a Micheal Ritchott 75 yard touchdown for the Rifles. The convert was missed, giving them a 6-0 lead. The Wildcats reciprocated shortly after with a 19 yard touchdown by Bray Josue, changing the score to a 7-6 lead for the ‘Cats with 11:11 left in the first quarter. The Rifles tied up the score with a punt into the end zone, bringing it to 7-7 with 8:17 left in the first quarter. The second quarter saw the lead change back to the Rifles with a Ritchott 11 yard touchdown, making it 12-7 with 12:51 left in the first half. With 0:32 left in the half, Jordan Olson pushed through a 1 yard touchdown, giving the Wildcats a 17-13 lead. On the final play of the half, Ryan Smith kicked a 10 yard field goal, bringing the lead up to 20-13.

The second half started with a pair of singles by the Rifles, reducing the ‘Cat lead to 20-15. Zach Regert caught a 6-yard pass in the end zone, and the Rifles try unsuccessfully for a 2 point conversion. The lead went back to the away team 21-20 with 2:02 left in the third. The Rifles ended the third quarter with a fake field goal attempt, which lead to a third Micheal Ritchott touchdown, giving them a 28-20 lead. Jordan Olson reciprocates with a 1-yard touchdown, reducing the Rifle lead to a single point with 9:33 left in the game. Bray Josue follows up with only 1:26 left in the game with a touchdown. The two-point conversion was unsuccessful, giving the Wildcats a 33-28 advantage. With only 0:20 left in the game, Macho Bockrru scores a touchdown for the Rifles. This is followed by a successful 2-point conversion, ending the game with a Rifles victory of 36-33.

The Wildcats offense saw a total of 397 yards, 283 passing and 155 rushing. Pass rushing was lead by Bray Josue who had 16 carries for 131 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Pass receiving was lead by Tristan Schultenkamper who had 4 catches for 71 yards. Quarterback Jordan Olson completed 17 out of 42 attempts for 283 yards, 2 touchdowns, and threw 4 interceptions.

The Wildcats defense was lead by Defensive Back Jayden Dalke who had 7 tackles, 1 fumble return, and 1 interception for a total of 20 points. He was followed by Defensive Back Tony Savchuk who had 7 tackles and 1 interception for a total of 18 points.

Despite the disappointing end to the season, the Wildcats did collect over 500 pairs of winter socks which will be donated to the Mustard Seed.
