King of the Cats
The Edmonton Wildcats kicked off their main Camp on Wednesday night with the Annual King of the Cats Skills competition. This year’s 2009 winner went to running back Liam Dow. Past winners of the competition were Derek Graf, winning it the last two years in 2007 and 2008, along with Ryan King winning it in 2006.
The King of the Cats competition was created by Assistant Head Coach, Darcy Park to help the coaches evaluate the skill level of the players coming into main camp and to provide some healthy competition for the players leading into the first day of training camp.
Thursday kicks off the regular practices leading up to the Exhibition games that will be played at Clark Parke on Sunday Aug 2nd with the Calgary Colt and the Edmonton Huskies.
