Wildcats and Huskies in a Rematch at Clarke Park
The Edmonton Wildcats play host to their cross town rivals the Huskies this Friday night under the lights at Clarke Park start time 8:00pm. The Wildcats are coming off a hard fought lose to the Calgary Colts this past weekend and want to get back into the win column and get back into second place in the conference. The Huskies on the other hand are looking for their first win of the season and a bit of vindication after their lose last month to the Wildcats
Offensively the Wildcats, with Quarterback Jordan Olson at the helm will be looking to control the line of scrimmage. Olson had a solid game against the Colts with the offense racking up 491 yards of total offense, rushing 13 times for 99 yards and passing for 237 yards on 21 of 30 attempts in a losing cause against the Colts. Jordan Samoil increased his rushing lead in the conference to 937 yards and 9 TD’s on the season, after a 161 yard and 1 TD performance last weekend. He will be looking for another big game against the Huskies this Friday. Olson has been spreading the ball around of late and his receivers have produced some solid numbers in the last couple of games.
Defensively Linebacker Aiden Panchyshyn and DB Adam Laurensse are both ranked in the top 10 in the conference and will be called upon this Friday to continue their dominance on defense. On special teams Ideen Samadi is leading the conference with 61 points followed closely by Jordan Samoil who has 54 points.
Next game sees the Wildcats at home to host the Hilltops on Sunday September 30th at 1:00pm at Clarke Park.
All Edmonton Wildcat practices are at Rundle Park and the players take to the field at around 7:30 pm nightly.
